police are investigating the attempted theft of lead from two homes in Woodmancote, near Dursley.
A nearby resident reported seeing a man peeling back lead flashing from the top window of a home around 2am this morning, Wednesday May 23.
After being disturbed, the man ran from the scene before getting in a vehicle, possibly a 4x4.
Nothing was stolen.
The man was described as white, in his 30s, around 6ft tall and of large build.
He had short dark hair and was wearing dark coloured clothing.
It is thought an attempt had also been made to steal flashing from a second home nearby.
