MIDWIFERY student Aimi Meen is staging a ladies’ pampering evening to raise vital funds for the Tanzanian maternity hospital she will be working in later this year.

Aimi, who lives in Cashes Green, Stroud, is visiting the African country for two weeks in October as part of her degree at the University of the West of England in Bristol.

She hopes to raise at least £1,000 through the pampering evening to top up the hospital’s stretched funds and allow her to take out essential resources, such as sterile gloves and text books.

The event will be held at Foxmoor Primary School in Stroud on Friday, June 22, from 6pm – 9pm.

Entry is free and will include a complimentary glass of wine or orange juice, as well as free health and beauty treatments, samples and discounts on dozens of products.

Stalls on the night will be manned by a host of beauty therapists, health product providers and hairdressers, who will be on hand to offer styling tips and know-how.

Visitors can also browse a selection of handcrafted items, including jewellery and handbags, and take part in a raffle to win dozens of girly gifts.
