Witnesses sought to criminal damage at shopping centre

police investigating an incident of criminal damage to a car at Merrywalks Shopping Centre in Stroud are appealing for witnesses.

Officers received a report that between 5:30pm and 5:45pm on Thursday, June 14, a maroon-coloured VW Passat collided with a silver Vauxhall Astra causing damage to the Astra’s wing mirror.

Following the incident, a 24-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop following a collision and failing to report a collision.

He has been bailed to return to Stroud police station on July 23, pending further enquiries.

Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone in the area that may have witnessed the damage being caused and ask that they contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 346 of June 14.
