NEW services and longer opening hours await Amberley Post Office when it reopens as a Post Office Local in August.

The existing service in Amberley Stores will close on Friday, August 3, to allow for alterations to the premises and will reopen on Friday, August 10.

New services include automated banking services, bill and budget payment schemes, Post Office card account services and international postage.

Post Office spokesman Neil Jenkins said: "Post Office Local is a new concept for delivering Post Office services, operated from an open plan counter in an established shop, with a range of key Post Office products and services available alongside the retail counter.

"The new service will see customers able to access services over a much longer period of opening hours, every day of the week."
