DETECTIVES have revealed details about the medical equipment found at the scene of last night's discovery.

The bowl found was the kind used by midwives and the bag also contained a syringe cap, towels, tissues and medical wipes.

Investiagtions are continuing this morning to ascertain whether the placenta - found in a bag with the equipmehnt - is human or animal.

The bag was found by a dog walker in woods near South Woodchester shortly before 7pm yesterday evening, Thursday, along a track leading from Bospin Lane to Selsley Common.

If it is from a human, the placenta is suspected to be from the birth of a baby of around 20 weeks gestation.

Anyone with information which could help the police should call 101 quoting incident number 433 of July 26.
