WITNESSES are being sought to an assault outside a Stroud pub which left a man with serious head injuries.

The incident happened just outside the Clothiers Arms on Bath Road around 2pm on Saturday, July 28.

Two men were assaulted during the incident, one man, a 46-year-old man from Stroud ,suffered serious head injuries and was treated in hospital. A second man was hit in the head but did not require hospital treatment.

One man has been arrested and charged with common assault. The 35-year-old man from Gwent in South Wales has been bailed to appear at Stroud Magistrates' Court on September 3.

police want to speak to another man in connection with the serious assault.

He is described as white, aged in his 40s, with a large build and short greying hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt and white trainers.
