THE policing team for Leighterton near Tetbury are appealing to the community for information after criminal damage was caused to a school in the area.

Offensive remarks were scratched into windowsills on the building on Boxwell Road and mud was used to write lewd comments on the external walls between midnight on Wednesday August 15 and 1pm on Monday, August 20.

Sergeant for the area, Rich Smith, said: “It’s very disappointing when vandals target a building that’s important within the community.

“Crime in Leighterton remains very low and we have been grateful for the support of the local community with our investigations thus far.

“However we would still like to hear from anyone that has any information that could help our inquiries so that we can identify these offenders.”

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 214 of August 2.
