STROUD legal firm Leigh Young Solicitors has relocated to plush new offices in the town and welcomed three highly experienced recruits to the outfit.

The practice opted to move to self-owned premises at One Rowcroft to accommodate its growing team and provide capacity for future development.

Of the three new solicitors, Madelene Schofield-Whittingham joins from a city firm in Birmingham and will rely on her 17 years’ experience to head up the corporate / commercial department.

Solicitors Paul Hodsman and Lucy Webley have also been drafted in to bulk up the private client division.

With more than 30 years’ experience under his belt, Paul will conduct residential conveyancing, while Lucy’s 15 years working in family law will stand her in good stead as she plays a key role in the development of private client activity.

Co-director Cheryl Leigh, who first established the firm with Margaret Young in 2009, said the new team was feeling ‘energised and excited’ by the relocation.

"The purchase of One Rowcroft coupled with the team expansion puts us on a whole new playing field," she said.

"We have put down permanent roots in Stroud and laid the foundations for a thriving, enduring business.

"When Margaret and I set up the firm, we wanted to provide something different – excellent, city-standard legal services with a caring approach and it is important to us that we retain this ethos as we grow."
