Students were privileged to cook a two course meal under instruction of Hawkwood College tutor and chef, John Butt.
On September 12, a small group of people took part in a session, held by the College, to improve their own cooking skills by preparing and serving a meal to over 30 guests.
Mr Butt, who trained locally and in the Bavarian Alps and worked alongside Raymond Blanc, gave participants a chance to learn to prepare, cook and clean up after a large number of guests with a diverse range of dietary requirements.
John, who is currently creating a cookery book of his Hawkwood recipes, used his expert skills and attitude towards big groups of guests to encourage students to take on such a large task.
He said: “Students are usually a bit apprehensive about the whole experience.
“However when it's all over they have a real sense of achievement. We do make it really easy for them.”
Katie Lloyd-Nunn, Development Co-ordinator said: “Hawkwood is all about creativity and personal development, and cooking with John fits in with that.
“We look forward to welcoming two or three students on 14 November. ”
The one day session will cost £57 including lunch.
