VILLAGERS entered an array of home-grown items at the annual Flower and Produce Show in Horsley on Saturday.

More than 80 entrants were received for a variety of classes including flowers, produce, crafts and photography.

Simon Allen of Sugley Farm, Horsley, was the overall show winner and was presented with the Horsley Horticultural Society Cup.

Produce show organiser, Rachael Austin, said: "Despite the effect the weather has had on all our gardens we had some wonderful entrants and once again the day was a fabulous village event."

The show took place alongside Horsley Village Fete.

A bar served local beers and wines and visitors brought along fresh apples for pressing.

There were also stalls, competitions and other attractions including pony rides, fairground rides, baby llamas and a raffle spread around St Martin’s Church, the village hall and the playing fields.

Organisers would like to thank all those who helped make the show a success.
