FANCY dress and music from the era brought the spirit of the 1940s to Stonehouse during a Battle of Britain day.
Warm weather and plenty of attractions ensured Saturday's celebration was a huge success.
Traders had carefully decorated their windows with wartime displays and the day started and finished with an air raid siren.
Adrian Hale, of Stonehouse Rotary Club, which organised the event with businesses, said: "You could be excused for thinking that you had gone back in time."
The theme for the day was the Battle of Britain and a lot of traders dressed up in 1940s period costume.
Some of the public also joined in.
Stalls had a busy day as did the shops, many of which had special offers and themed food.
Visitors watched a skateboard demonstration, acrobatics and gymnastics and enjoyed giant games, a zumba demonstration, balloon race, raffles and face painting.
Around 20 classic vehicles and a steam engine were lined up to add another authentic touch.
