New pedestrian crossing to be installed in Paganhill Lane following calls from MP and town councillor
9:15am Tuesday 25th September 2012 in News By SNJ Reporter
A NEW pedestrian crossing looks set to be installed at the top of Paganhill Lane after MP Neil Carmichael and town councillor Haydn Sutton joined forces to improve highway safety in the area.
The pair arranged a meeting with Gloucestershire Highways after concerns were raised that pedestrians were having difficulties crossing over the road next to the Maypole roundabout.
"After a constructive meeting, plans will be drawn up for a crossing to be constructed at the top of Paganhill Lane," said Mr Carmichael.
"This will enable safe crossing for school children and elderly people around the Maypole roundabout vicinity. It is hoped that this proposal will meet all the necessary criteria."
