POLICE have released an e-fit image of a man who may have crucial information about the theft of a parrot from a house.

Jasper, an African grey parrot, was taken from his cage, along with his blanket, from an address in Hanman Road, in Tredworth some time in the afternoon of Wednesday, September 12.

Jasper’s owner, a 61-year-old woman, suffered a heart attack when she returned home to discover the loss of the bird. She was treated at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and later discharged.

During house to house inquiries by police a neighbour reported seeing two south east Asian men close to the house that afternoon.

Officers have now released an e-fit image of one of those men and are urging the man, or any members of the public who recognise the man to get in contact.

Anyone who can help, or believes they may know the whereabouts of the six-year-old parrot, who is described as the size of a pigeon with a grey body and bright red tail, should call 101, quoting incident 326 of September 12.
