police are appealing for information after a ram raid at a bank in Quedgeley this morning, Friday.

A member of the public reported the robbery at the Olympus Centre retail park at about 9.25am.

A car, believed to be a green and silver 4x4 model, was driven into the door of the building before two men wearing balaclavas were seen entering and snatching a substantial amount of money being loaded into a cash machine. The car then made off from the area.

A police search involving the police helicopter took place and officers are now pursuing a number of lines of inquiry including a review of CCTV in the area.

Officers are also speaking to potential witnesses and appealing for any other members of the public who may have seen suspicious activity in the area, or the car being driven before or after the incident, to call in.

Anyone with information should ring 101, quoting incident 120 of October 5.
