A NATIONWIDE search has begun for inspiring young people who have demonstrated exceptional bravery, courage and fortitude.

Stagecoach Inspiration Awards in association with Billy Elliot the Musical are seeking to recognise and reward a number of youngsters who have exhibited these qualities or who have shown impressive leadership skills or proven they are good role models.

Stagecoach, which runs a global network of part-time performing arts schools, will honour the winners during a special presentation at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London on Monday December 3.

The company is encouraging people in the Stroud area to nominate youngsters aged between four and 18 who they think meet the criteria.

Stagecoach’s founder Stephanie Manuel said: “The awards are very humbling and a brilliant way of honouring those who have achieved or endured so much despite adversity. We all take so much for granted and the awards remind us of the courage of young people who never complain or seek recognition.”

All finalists will be invited to attend a special awards ceremony at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London, together with their parents or guardians and the person who has nominated them.

There will be a special question and answer session with the cast of Billy Elliot the Musical after the ceremony and guests will be invited to see the hit show later that evening.
