WORK colleagues from a Stonehouse company will run the Stroud Half Marathon in aid of charity later this month.

The team from Lister Communications - a business telecommunications provider - will take part in the event on Sunday, October 21 in order to fundraise for The Timmy Mason Trust.

Richard Snell, 37, Tom Hann, 24, Ted Waddell, 20, and Rosie Williams, 23, are hoping to raise more than £1,000 for the trust, which offers support to families who have children living with cancer.

Rosie's seven-year-old cousin Timmy Mason died last October after a three year battle with a rare form of the disease called rhabdomyosarcoma.

His parents founded the trust earlier this year on what would have been the eve of his eighth birthday.

The trust was set-up to assist families with travel expenses for treatments and to help cover the costs of short breaks away.

"We are all really looking forward to taking part in the event and raising money for a good cause," said Rosie.

"We have been training hard and we are all hoping we can post some decent times."
