DOZENS of budding artists picked up their paintbrushes and pencils to take part in the Big Draw this weekend.

With help from students and staff at Stroud School of Art, visitors to Museum in the Park on Saturday helped to create a collage to celebrate local heritage.

The theme this year at the Museum in the Park was mapping and artists of all ages took inspiration from maps of the Stroud district and objects from the museum to create their pieces.

Artists of all ages took part, with many drawing their routes to school, houses and favourite places in Stroud.

Local artists also lent a hand at the event including Minchinhampton based wildlife and natural history artist, Cath Hodsman.

On Sunday, visitors created a giant 3D map using paper pop up tricks.
The Big Draw is a national event aimed at encouraging drawing.
