BUSINESSMAN Chris Isaac has received an award recognising his contribution to promoting Gloucestershire.

Mr Isaac, creative director of the Stroud-based Isaac Partnership, designed and developed the Gloucestershire Skillsfest website in support of the apprenticeship campaign.

Economic development company GFirst LEP presented him with an award at a ceremony at the Parabola Arts Centre in Cheltenham earlier this month. "I was thrilled to be recognised," said Mr Isaac.

"It goes to show that it isn't just large businesses that can make a difference. "We are a small team but a good one and a little team effort goes a long way. "We really enjoyed working on the Skillsfest project, so much so that we took on an apprentice from the many young people who approached us at the show.

"We are always looking for opportunities to promote the area, it is a great place to live and a great place to do business."
