HOME-cooked food at affordable prices is the motto of a new cafe and restaurant in Minchinhampton.

Couple Adam Atkins and Holly Bevan took over the former His and Hers earlier this month.

Munchinhampton, in Westend, will offer breakfast, lunch and evening meals with the emphasis on homemade produce including chutneys, ice cream and cheeses.

Adam and Holly, who keep chickens and pigs and grow their own vegetables at their home in Shortwood, source all the produce from local businesses.

"We know how easy it can be to be tempted by fast food but we believe locals will appreciate an alternative at Munchinhampton," said Holly.

Adam, who grew up in Minchinhampton, was previously head chef at The Catherine Wheel in Bibury. He started his career as a chef at The Weighbridge pub before becoming headchef at Tubby's, in Nailsworth.

"My experience at Tubby's taught me the importance of offering a wide selection of affordable, homemade food," said Adam. "There's no magic involved, we are simply using quality local ingredients and produce to give diners a great choice of tasty, freshly-made dishes."

Holly also spent many years working at The Weighbridge and at Tubby's before starting a family five years ago. "With two young children we know what will appeal to families," she said.

"We have designed a children's menu and are also happy to make child-size portions of adult menus."
