ORGANISERS of the Stroud Sunday Market are stressing that the next event is still taking place, despite the fringe festival running at the same time.Instead of the usual market at the Cornhill, there will be stalls down the High Street and along Kendrick Street and Union Street.
The Cornhill is being used as the fringe blues stage with bands playing throughout the day.
Katherine Bryan-Merrett, who organises the market with Terry Trimmer, said: "The Stroud Fringe is here and all the team at Stroud Sunday Market are really excited to see all the fantastic acts which will be playing throughout the streets of Stroud.
"We would like to assure everyone that the Stroud Sunday Market will still be going ahead as usual and are looking forward to the buzz that the Stroud Fringe will add."
The market - which has grown from 40 to 65 stalls since it started in June - will have the usual array of world cuisine, homemade crafts, gifts and vintage clothing and will add to the fringe atmosphere with buskers playing in the streets.
The market is on Sunday, September 1 from 10am to 3pm.
