TOP cheese maker Woefuldane Organic Dairy has extended its Minchinhampton shop to include a new cafe.

Melissa Ravenhill and her dairy farmer husband Jonathan sell a range of award-winning cheeses, milk, eggs and creams at their shop in Market Square from the family's organic farm, which lies just half a mile down the road.

Now, their son Henry and his partner Suzy Barker have launched Shorthorn Coffee House, which provides specialist coffee, teas and of course ploughman's lunches.

Dozens attended an official opening at the cafe on Thursday, August 29.

Suzy said: "We are keen to ensure that as much of the food and drink as possible is sourced locally with most coming from within 10 miles.

"Every dairy product used in the shop and cafe is made from organic milk produced by our herd of Dairy Shorthorn cattle, hence the name Shorthorns Coffee House."

For children the duo have created special 'cowsplat sandwiches', which allows them to build their own snack, and cow shaped biscuits.

Shorthorn Coffee House is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 2pm on Saturdays.
