STAFF at the Bisley House are celebrating after becoming only one of three Stroud restaurants to make it into the Michelin Guide book.

The bar and restaurant in Middle Street, Stroud, is joined by Cotswolds 88 in Painswick and The Library on Rodborough Common.

Bisley House manager Rorie Scott said the team were absolutely delighted and a little surprised that they managed to make it into the guide.

Mr Scott explained that months ago the pub was visited by an anonymous inspector who upon his departure explained who he was and that he had really enjoyed his meal and time at the restaurant.

“We were obviously visited by another inspector at some point but they don’t reveal themselves and now we have appeared in the guide,” he added.

“When looking at the guide in previous years it was sad to see that Stroud wasn’t more represented.

“Therefore for the Bisley House it is great to be one of the places in the area to help show off Stroud.”

The Michelin Guide book covers restaurants all over the UK as well as Europe and the rest of the world. To find out more about the book go to viamichelin.co.uk
