STROUD’S very own vintage emporium has been named in the Sunday Telegraph’s 50 best vintage fashion boutiques.

Time after Time in Stroud High Street made it on to the newspaper’s list, which is predominately filled with shops in London.

According to store owner David Ireland, a writer from the newspaper rang the shop and asked him if he would be happy to appear on the list.

“We were absolutely amazed,” said David, who has run the shop in Stroud High Street with his wife Sandra for almost nine years.

“It was lovely to have been recommended for the list by one of our customers especially as I believe word of mouth is one of the best things for business.”

Time After Time sells a range of Victorian clothes, Edwardian beaded gowns and decadent vintage pieces from a vast network of local dealers and private collections.

“I think we made it onto the list for two reasons,” added David. “The quality of the products we have on offer and the brilliant customer service we provide.

“We have been told by customers on a number of occasions what a delight it is to come into the shop.

“It’s important for us to try and give people a good time in the store so when they visit us we make sure there is always old music playing,” he added.

“We also put a lot of effort in trying to get the best pieces into the shop for the right prices.

“For us, price is very imprtant as we are not based in London, so there is no way we can sell things at London prices.”

Time after Time was one of only four vintage boutioques in the south west to make in onto the Telegraph’s list.

According to the article, anyone visiting the shop should ‘expect the unexpected’.
