GREEN energy company Ecotricity has come out on top in a survey on customer satisfaction with 84 per cent.

The annual survey conducted by Which?, a product and service review site and magazine, asked 9,400 people to rate their energy supplier with Ecotricity coming out on top out of a total of 18 suppliers.

Ecotricity founder Dale Vince said: “Our customers are at the heart of everything we do at Ecotricity – they are our focus and we intend to stay at the top of the table.”

Meanwhile the Stroud-based company has announced it will cut gas bills by 6.1 per cent following recent falls in the wholesale gas price.

Both new and existing customers will save an average of £42 annually as Ecotricity has only one gas tariff.

According to another Which? report, Ecotricity’s price cut has outdone the big six with an overall satisfaction score of 80 per cent passing all of Which?’s assessments on policy, practices and pricing.

The price change will come into effect from Friday, May 1.
