STONEHOUSE Bargain Buys has opened its doors to customers this morning.

The new store in Elm Road, off the High Street, is selling everything from electrical goods to clothes.

It was officially opened this morning by Stonehouse Town councillor Paul Stephens and owner Jeremy Elliott.

Mr Elliott has lived in Stonehouse for more than 20 years, running the Spa in Park Road.

His son Luke will be working at the store, and his wife Tracey is co-owner.

Cllr Stephens said: "I am delighted that a local businessman has taken over the store which has been vacant for around three months now.

"This is exactly the store Stonehouse needed, providing good quality items at an affordable price."

The store, which was secured with a £50k investment, will be open from 8am until 6pm, Monday to Saturday.

Six part-time staff will be employed at the store.
