THERE is a selection of hot and cold snacks to suit all appetites at Stroud’s newest roadside eatery The Highwayman Cafe.
Based at the top of Cowcombe Hill near Aston Down, the cafe boasts a mouth-watering menu of burgers, freshly-filled rolls and its best-selling all day full English Breakfast.
Passers-by with a hankering for something sweeter can also tuck into a range of home made cakes, freshly baked each day, including such favourites as lemon drizzle and Victoria sponge.
"It has just got busier and busier," said owner Lynn Backen, who has enlisted the help of her two daughters Molly and Ellie to run the bistro.
‘We do have our regular customers who come for their breakfast every morning so we hope we can attract more and more people."
Lynn acquired the cafe last month after its previous owner was forced to shut due to roadworks.
She added that she also hopes to begin serving cream teas with home made scones come the summer.
