THIS was our annual Christmas Social and members arrived laden down with food they had made.

The festive table actually groaned with all the goodies and made us hurry through the 'business side' of the meeting.

Our meeting was chaired by Maureen, Vice President who thanked everyone for coming and gave Birthday flowers out to Lorraine, Patricia and belated ones to Val.

They were then serenaded by some choir members to a very professional rendering of Happy Birthday.

Apologies were received from Joan Baxter and Joan Nelson.

Maureen announced that the Knit and Natter Group had manned a stall at Kings Stanley School Christmas Fayre and had raised the sum of approximately £100.

She thanked everyone involved for their hard work.

Christmas cards had been received from Joan Baxter and St Lawrence Church, the latter thanking us for taking part in this year's Christmas Tree Festival.

Members were reminded to look at the Resolutions ready for January meeting and also to the fact that Denman were offering reduced rates on courses.

As members were aware, we are now in the Weaver's Group and Randwick will be hosting the Group Rally in April.

Maureen gave details of the competitions and members and asked to give this some thought over the Christmas period.

Chris then read the Minutes of November's meeting which were approved.

She reminded everyone that WI membership fees were due at January meeting.

With business over, we all had a welcome glass of mulled wine.

This was followed by games organised ably by Freda.

First we played 'Caravan' adapted from Beetle and then a word game based on songs.

This went down well and afterwards the committee performed a very humerus understated version of Cinderella to much applause and merriment. We all then tucked into the food, all of it baked and made by members and nothing purchased from the supermarket, keeping up WI standards and traditions.

Maureen reminded us that the January meeting will be on Wednesday morning, January 8, at 10.30 - 12.30 and will be a talk on 'Mr Punch'. Visitors and new members will be very welcome to join us at the Congregational Church Hall, Bedford Street, Stroud.
