STROUD Gardening Club met at the nice and warm Congregational Hall, Bedford Street for their annual Christmas Social.

Edna welcomed everyone and each member was given a Christmas Card with a number on it for the free raffle which was drawn at the end of the evening.

We started off with our usual game of Beetle, which always goes down well - although certain members still managed to get muddled with anti clockwise and clockwise when moving from table to table.

A welcome glass of hot mulled wine preceded the Committee performing a short abridged version of Cinderella.

This received much laughter and applause and we are not sure who enjoyed it most, the Committee or the audience.

Special mention must be made of the most beautiful peroxide blonde Fairy Godmother, in the form of Nigel our Treasurer, also thanks to the Narrator expertly executed by Gill Jobbins, a Gardening club member.

We then proceeded to the table for food provided by members, managing to eat most of it before departing out into the cold night.

The next meeting of Stroud Gardening Club will be on Wednesday evening at 7.30 p.m.

New members and visitors very welcome.
