TUESDAY, February 4 saw the second meeting of the Stroud Depression Support Group this year.
People attended the group and were able to share common experiences of how they have been able to cope with depression in the past month.
Also, as we always say, the group is not there just to support those who have depression or have had it in the past but also the carers or family members of those with depression since depression can have just as a debilitating effect on those as well.
Certainly, at this meeting, problems were discussed and possible solutions offered by those present who may have had similar experiences.
The general feeling was that the meeting had been a positive one for those who had been present.
Furthermore, those present could go away knowing that they were not alone and this is very important when we talk about depression for it can be a very isolating illness.
The one thing we do like to emphasise when talking about depression is that if someone is suffering from it, they will get better – a very important thing to remember.
The next meeting of the Stroud Depression Support Group will be on Tuesday, March 4 at 7.30pm.
