THE monthly meeting of the Conservative Ladies Lunch Club was held at The Hill Merrywalks Stroud last week.
The speaker was Pete Wilson from BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
He gave a very amusing talk about his early life growing up in The Forest of Dean.
He then went on to recall how he first began broadcasting with Local Radio in 1988.
With his wife Sue, he presented a request show.
His next show was called Fun in a Phone Box and had a great following.
Listeners were invited to phone in to see if they could identify where he was (in a phone box) from the description he gave of his surroundings.
He now makes documentaries and has a programme on Radio Gloucestershire every Sunday morning.
New members to the Club are always welcome.
Please contact the Chairman Daphne Hogarth on 01453 890977.
You will be made most welcome.
Our next meeting will be on Thursday, March 13 at 12 noon.
