WE had an excellent turnout for the February 26 meeting and Chairman Bob Britton welcomed four visitors, whom it was hoped would become members.
He gave news of the outing on July 9 to Bristol Harbour at a cost of £15 per head, including transport.
The speaker for the evening was Nicholas Clark who gave a fascinating and humorous presentation on his visit to Sri Lanka, initially on a bird watching holiday but covering parts that the ordinary tourist would not normally see.
One could see he had been a teacher as he made his visit come alive with his descriptions and slides.
Nick is well travelled to a wide variety of countries visiting the unusual and unknown.
At the end of the evening, members enjoyed a well stocked table of food with their usual glass of wine.
The next meeting will be on March 26 when Rachel Roberts will talk about the early history of the Cheltenham Ladies College.
