ON Saturday, February 5, two Quakers will tell Positive Justice Gloucestershire’s spring lunchtime forum of their experiences of a restorative justice conference with an arsonist in prison.
Last year Gloucester’s Quaker Meeting House suffered an arson attack, which did considerable damage.
The Quakers immediately wanted to meet the arsonist, explain what this had meant to them, and find out what led to the crime. Restorative Gloucestershire organised the conference in Channings Wood prison.
Maggi and Elyn will be talking about this in the recently refurbished Meeting House, Greyfriars, Gloucester GL 1 1TS on Saturday, April 5, 11.30 – 2 pm.
We will also hear from an ex-offender, guilty of a totally different crime, who is now a restorative justice facilitator with Restorative Gloucestershire.
The meeting will be chaired by Rebecca Beard, Co-ordinator - Restorative Gloucestershire.
All are welcome.
Please bring food for a shared lunch over which it will be possible to talk informally to the speakers.
