ON Saturday, February 22, Rev. Eric Massey and helpers organised a bring and buy sale with refreshments in the Community Room at Rodborough Tabernacle United Reformed Church between 10 and 12.

An enjoyable time was had by all and £72 was raised for Church Funds.

On Friday, March 7, at 7.30p.m. in the Community Room Hilary and Dave Smith organised a Thai Evening.

Their neighbour Orn Billau and a friend had cooked a delicious three course banquet.

Forty three people thoroughly enjoyed it and Orn was given a standing ovation with £156 being raised for Church funds.

Also on that night, Glenis Massey, an elder and wife of the Minister, took part in the sleepover in St. Laurence Church yard on behalf of the Marah Trust.

Glenis is a trustee and wanted to experience first hand what it is like to sleep rough.

It was a very moving experience and she raised £300 for the wonderful work to continue.

Friday, March 14, at 7.30p.m. in the Community Room Mary Jones, Beaver Blue, Denise Westerman and their wonderful helpers celebrated St. Patrick’s Day in aid of Rodborough Scouts.

They had prepared delicious beef and vegetable stews together with a wonderful selection of trifles and sticky toffee pudding.

There was also a quiz with Bryan Small as the Quiz Master and he had prepared eight rounds which included Name a Country, General Knowledge, Geography and Food and Drink.

His grandson Chris, an ex scout, had provided a table quiz.

As usual there was much banter and Theresa Mansbridge’s table were eventual winners.

All the hard work resulted in £450 being raised for Scout Funds.

Saturday, March 15, between 10 and 12 at the home of Diana and Richard Davis a Coffee Morning took place.

It was a lovely sunny morning and some people took advantage of the welcome warmth and sat outside in their lovely garden.

There were delicious cakes and coffee and trade was brisk on the bring and buy stall and £117 was raised for Church Funds and £50 from the raffle for Commitment for life, the Tab’s charity for 2014.
