AT the recently held A.G.M. Peter Nairn was unanimously re-elected president.

He thanked members for their confidence and said he derived a good deal of pleasure from Probus meetings.

He did however voice his concern over the lack of new members, and while recognising this was a problem faced by many organisations he thought that with the number of retired men in the district more would be seeking to join.

At each meeting there is a guest speaker and the topics covered are extremely wide ranging, for instance at the next meeting on April 9, the talk will be on 'Mary Kingsley - Explorer Extraordinary' and later in the year we shall hear about 'Sub-Zero Japan' and this will be followed by Dr Tim Brain, former Chief Constable of Gloucestershire talking on the role of the Gloucestershire Regiment in Europe during the last year of World War Two.

Probus is open to all retired men and meetings are held at The Cotswold Indoor Bowling Centre, Dudbridge, where ample free car parking is available, commencing 10.15am on the second and fourth Wednesday in the month.
