HAWKWOOD College opened its doors to over 800 people on Monday, May 5.
A great day out for all the family, the programme included free taster workshops from the diverse course programme, children’s activities and traditional maypole dancing.
An array of traders offered vintage clothing and jewellery, back massage, and books for sale.
“There is a special quality of meeting at the open day,” commented a visitor.
“It’s something people in the local area look forward to and there’s always a warm welcome.”
A highlight was the announcement of the Bard of Hawkwood contest by Kevan Manwaring of the Cotswold Word Centre.
“According to tradition we announced the contest one year in advance.
Adults and children are invited to submit entries on the themes of ‘Flood’ and ‘Summer’ respectively for the 2015 award at next year’s Hawkwood Open Day.”
