STROUD Hospitals League of Friends are always very pleased to acknowledge all the very generous donations received in memory and appreciation of loved ones.
One such donation recently was the purchase of a Turnberry , three seater, hardwood garden bench with a plaque in memory of former Stroud General Hospital nurse, Mrs Pearl Smith.
This bench has been placed in the patio area to the front of Stroud General Hospital and is very popular with both staff and patients in the warm weather.
Mrs Smith began her career as a nurse, working during the Second World War at Stroud General Hospital and indeed her daughter, Alison Watkins, is also in nursing working here at the hospital.
