THE Business in Gloucestershire (BIG) Society, now in its sixth year has raised over £22,000 for local charities in Gloucestershire.

The next golf day taking place on 1 August, sponsored by CF Roberts will raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society who provide support and advice for people with dementia throughout Gloucestershire including memory cafes, singing for the brain and a number of other support groups.

B.I.G is a golf society for local businesses to regularly meet up and network whilst raising money for Gloucestershire charities.

Around 150 business people have taken part in the regular golf day which has raised funds for charities including the Pied Piper Appeal, LINC, Gloucestershire Young Carers including a 10k donation to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital to fund new baby monitors.

Co-founder of B.I.G Ian Eggleton, Director at Cheltenham based Surveyors and Planning Consultants Evans Jones, said: “The BIG golf day is a great way for local business people to meet in a relaxed setting, unlike many of the more structured networking events.

Of course it’s also a good excuse to get out of the office for a round of golf and raise money for some very worthy local charities at the same time! I encourage anyone wanting to meet local business people to sign up and play. Whether you are a beginner or more experienced golfer all ability levels are welcome.”
