WE HAVE had an extremely busy couple of months, doing what we do best, first of all on June 12 the members held their Annual Meeting when it was our chance to thank the President and Committee for all their hard work during the year.

We were blessed with a beautiful evening, and chose to set the little tables up outside the Village Hall.

Delicious food was prepared and we started off the evening with a welcome glass of cool Pimms or Fruit cup.

The business was conducted swiftly and efficiently, Anne Carter Chaired the meeting, and Mary Fern was the secretary for the evening.

Ann produced a cunning little quiz on Dickens book titles, which provided a lot of head scratching and a deal of laughter.

Next it was our turn to host the Summer Group Meeting on June 20.

The speaker was Mark Cummings from Radio Gloucestershire.

Mark's talk was excellent, with lots of lovely amusing anecdotes.

Of course there were delicious homemade cakes to tempt our guests from all the Institutes within the Group.

A very happy evening rounded off our busy year as hostesses, the rosebowl was handed to Bisley as it is their turn next.

We also Hosted the Summer Group Meeting which was reported in the SNJ recently.

There is no meeting in August but we shall be busy making preserves, chutneys, marmalades and jams for our stall at the Village Fete on September 6.

The date of the next meeting is September 11.

We are looking forward to Peter Bennett with his Tales of the GWR Railway, the usual venue at 7.30pm.

Visitors are always made most welcome.
