PATIENTS at Stroud Community Hospital are being kept cool on the wards thanks to a generous donation from the League of Friends.
The hospital has received 15 Dyson Tower Fans which have been keeping the patient bays and rooms on Jubilee and Cashes Green wards, the Minor Injury Unit, Theatre Ward and Endoscopy Department cool during the high summer temperatures.
The remote-controlled, bladeless fans - provided at a cost of around £3,600 - are ideal for the hospital, being quiet, safe and easy to clean.
Juliette Richardson, Matron, said: “Stroud Hospital is always delighted at the support we receive from the League of Friends and these fans have been a welcome addition for both staff and patients throughout the summer.”
Chairman of Stroud Hospital League of Friends, David Miller said: “The League is very pleased to have been able to help ensure the most comfortable environment on the wards for both the patients and staff and we are very grateful for all the support we receive from the community.”
