MICK Ponting, a retired vet from Cirencester, was the guest speaker at the Inner Wheel Club of Stroud’s Interclub Lunch, which was held at the Whitminster Village Hall on August 13.

This is an annual event to promote friendship, which is a key objective of International Inner Wheel.

The majority of guests, were members of Inner Wheel Clubs in District 10, which is an area stretching from Leominster in the North to Clevedon in the South, other guests included the Presidents of Stonehouse and Stroud Rotary Clubs and member’s friends.

An audience of approximately 80 listened attentively to the tales of Mick’s journey on his, trusty mount Caesar, travelling 700 miles across Outer Mongolia, selling Caesar at the end of his journey was the most difficult part of the whole adventure.
