AFTER the summer break, we met on September 10, the meeting was well attended with Ann, our President in the chair.

Our speaker was Sue Edwards who educated us on the history of the Autoharp, an interesting stringed instrument, beautifully played by Sue, often her own compositions.

Two of our members, Pam and Helen hosted a coffee morning on September 20 in support of the Vine Project (a charity supporting and educating children and young adults who have been orphaned through AIDS in KwaZulu Natal South Africa).

A very successful morning supported by our members, friends and neighbours.

Another coffee morning on September 29 in aid of the Butterfly Conservation Charity, organised by two of our members, Sue Smith (Chair of the Gloucestershire branch) and Sue Dodd (Sue 'n' Sue).

Their talks on butterflies together with fantastic photographs should not be missed.

Congratulations to our member Julia who recently won first in the craft section of the Malvern Show - her knitted hat was beautifully made, with lots of positive comments. Well done Julia.

Ann, our President and three members attended the Annual Council Meeting at Gloucester Rugby Club - the entertainment, "Two blokes and a Piano" was very enjoyable.

It was also an opportunity to catch up on County news and NFWI Centenary plans.

Our charity for 2015 is Horsfall House in Minchinhampton.

After our AGM in November we will be ready to send them a cheque for the money raised at our monthly raffle.

The speaker for our meeting on November 8 is Fiona Warin talking about "The Landgirls".

Fiona is always a popular guest - why not pay us a visit?

We are a friendly WI with something for everyone - outings, craft sessions, scrabble, singing, lunch club and local walks.

The programme is prepared for 2015 and looking good.
