THE Chairman was given a warm welcome after her long unplanned absence, she thanked the committee for carrying on during this time

Members present were fairly thin on the ground but not unexpected owing to the bad weather, but missed out on a super evening.

It was agreed that our donation to the Mayor`s Defibrillation Fund was a good idea, it was pointed out that it could possibly save the life of any one of us in the future.

The A.G.M. - This is the time of year when members can make changes to the Committee if they so wish, as no nominations were forthcoming it was proposed that the Committee be voted back en bloc - so carried.

The Treasurer was invited to give a brief account of the Club`s finances, which are very healthy, she also provided a copy of the current balance sheet for each member.

Annual subs will remain at £11.00 for another year.

The Chairman said that the Club was in very good shape financially but we do need to recruit more members, husbands and partners are invited too.

We were delighted to welcome new members Ralph Perry and Louise.

The speaker Andy Pedrick was welcomed and introduced to present "Propagating" - this proved to be very useful and great fun.

Andy had brought along a great deal of material and compost, also flower pots and everything needed to carry out the task of propagating many shrubs.

The hall was buzzing, indeed it could have gone on for much longer.

Refreshments were served and the raffle drawn, Iris thanked Andy for a wonderful programme and all went home clutching one or more pots of fresh cuttings.

It was obvious that the evening had been a great success.
