A new road surface will be laid on Parabola Road and Bayshill Road in Cheltenham.

Improvements are being made for the safety of motorists as the road is damaged and in need of repair.

The work will begin on Monday 27th October and is due for completion on Thursday, October 30.

A road closure will be in operation between 9.30am and 3.30pm when highway crews will be on site working hard to get the resurfacing done as quickly as possible.

To allow as much access as possible during the work, Montpellier Street will be open to two way traffic between Queens Circus and Parabola Road.

Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles, and where possible, residents and businesses.

Councillor Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways and flood said: "Thank you in advance to commuters and drivers for their co-operation."

"I appreciate that works like this do inconvenience people, but it will make a big difference to road users when it’s finished. Should residents require any assistance with access to their property please speak to the contractors on site who will assist in any way they can.”

Local County Councillor for Lansdown and Park, Tim Harman said, “Many of us in the town have been looking forward to a new surface for Parabola Road and Bayshill Road. The work will take place during the half term holidays to minimise disruption. I’m sure we’ll all be glad to have safer and smoother journeys in future.”
