OCTOBER opened with Roy Jones taking the lead on our ride to Wotton-under-Edge.

The route via Selsley and Nympsfield was enjoyed in sun but with an autumnal coolness in the breeze.

The group of 13 arrived at Wotton Town Hall for tea and home-made cakes, before returning via Huntingford and Stinchcombe.

Malcolm and Roxy Jackson were leaders on October 12 taking 13 members on a tour of the ups and downs of the Uley area before returning for tea at Ebley Wharf.

Our local historian Tony Martin, took a dozen riders on a route to identify the several 'Wicks' - Lower, Middle and Upper which can be found either side of the M5 near Michaelwood Services.

Tea was enjoyed in The Yurt at Berkeley Castle.

Out tandem duo - Pete and Pat were leaders on October 25 for visit to Tetbury.

They were joined by 14 others on the journey up the A46 to Tiltups End and on via Chavenage for tea and cakes at Lindseys Cafe.

Returning through Avening, on a cloudy and cool afternoon.

November opened with Bill Adams accompanied by ten members riding out through Standish, Hardwicke and the Elmore 'loop', and on to the Stables Cafe at Saul junction for tea and teacakes.

By way of a change a sharpish rain shower rather dampened the otherwise enjoyable afternoon.

A super Sunday afternoon on November 19 Malcolm Jackson was leader for he ride to the Cotswold Airfield at Kemble for tea etc at the AV8cafe.

The trip over the most direct route - to have enough daylight for the return journey, was enjoyed by 13 riders.

Roy Jones was at the helm on November 16 for our ride up through Stroud and Bisley for tea at Oakridge Post Office.

He was accompanied by nine cyclists on a typically dull autumn day.

November 23 was much better for Bill Adams to lead 11 other Wheelers for a visit to Arlingham, including a circuit of the village before making our way via the Priding to the Stables Cafe for the tea stop.

November ended with Peter Kwan leading a nice (the fog lifted just as we started) but, hilly run out to Prinknash Park, via Wick Street and Jacks Green to the Salt Box crossroads.

The climb was compensated for with the pleasure of the long downhill free-wheel of what many will remember as Sanitorium Road.

After tea we returned along the A46 with the last rays of the Sun disappearing as we cycled into Painswick.

Our Wednesday afternoon rides continue, leaving from Ebley Wharf (Greenaways) at 13.15 hours.

We generally head towards the River Severn via various routes and aim to be back by dark.
