DECEMBER'S meeting was a most successful Christmas Party, with lovely refreshments, and the chance to catch up with our very welcome guests from other Institutes within the Bisley Group of WI's.

Everyone was given a surprise present from Santa's basket, we had fun trying to solve two quizzes, and a jolly time was had by all.

On January 8, Sue welcomed everyone, Subs were paid, and the business conducted efficiently as usual.

We will send two teams for the first round of the County Quiz, date and venue to be confirmed.

We were delighted to give a warm welcome to Anne Weare who gave us a very informative demonstration on the art of Bookbinding.

Anne trained with her late Father Theo at The Gloucester College of Art and Design, Anne went on to complete her training in the Bindery section of Douglas Cockerell & Son in Grantchester Cambridge.

Anne continues to exhibit her skilled craft with The Gloucester Guild of Craftsmen also at The Painswick Art Festival, Theo and Anne worked together for several years then Anne took over her late Fathers business in Far Oakridge in 2001.

It was lovely to watch the process of making a book from start to finish, and one lucky member became the owner of this pretty notebook at the end of the evening in a draw.

The Next Meeting will be The Members Meeting on February 12 in the Village Hall.

Please note the change of time 7.15pm.

We shall serve a hot supper after a Mystery Guest Speaker has entertained us promptly at 7.15pm.
