IT SEEMED such a long time ago that we were together.

It was a month ago when we enjoyed our Christmas Party but so much has happened since then it is good to be ‘back to normal’ again and meet friends that we haven’t seen for a while. There was a very good attendance for such a wet and windy evening and the business was dealt with in the usual efficient manner.

Two teams were selected for the County Quiz, the first round of which will take place on March 19 and another team for a local quiz in King’s Stanley.

Maureen has invited members to her home to view a DVD of ‘Old Stroud’ on Tuesday, January 26 which she has just obtained.

Our pub lunch for January will be at The Clothiers on January 21 and will take the form of a Christmas Lunch out of season.

The subscription tea party had to be postponed as the Treasurer was laid low with the ‘bug’ which is causing problems at this time of the year – however, for those who have yet to pay they can call on Mary on Thursday 22, January 22 from 2 – 4pm and pay then.

The meeting then divided into three groups when members were given some hands-on demonstrations of hand crafts by fellow members.

We then enjoyed our refreshment break which was followed by a discussion of the many unusual and varied Christmas cards which had been received.

The next meeting will be on Monday, February 9 when the speaker will be Ann Taylor and her subject ‘The Walled Garden Project’.

The display is to be a book entitled ‘a good read’ and this will be discussed at the end of the evening.

Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month (unless otherwise noted) in the Village Hall at 7.30pm.

Visitors are always welcome but, if you would just like to know more about us, please telephone the President on 822435 or Secretary on 822299.

We would like to welcome you.
