A LARGE number of members attended the recent AGM of the Minchinhampton Gardening Club, and several new members were welcomed.
The Committee under the Chairmanship of John Bingle was unanimously re-elected and reports of a successful year and thanks to all those who contributed were read out.
Two outings and two social evenings were included in the past year's programme as well as the ever popular Annual Show and regular meetings at the Primary School and an equally interesting and varied programme was announced for the coming year.
John Bingle was then asked to come out to the front of the hall.
Since the installation of the lead containers surrounding the Minchinhampton War Memorial, John has grown the plants for the containers where he has maintaining beautiful displays throughout the year.
To his obvious surprise and pleasure, he was presented with a certificate for exceptional service by Sandra Hayward on behalf of the Royal British Legion.
