TIM Smith opened the meeting by welcoming everyone and the programme for this year was circulated.

Details were given of the outing on July 8 to Westons Cider at Ledbury, which will cost £25 per person which includes a visit, cider tasting, a two course meal plus coach.

Chris Phillips will give out details of food available for members to make their choice at the March meeting.

The Chairman welcomed several new members and gave details of the meeting on February 25 which will be a talk by Dick Sheppard on his experiences as an Auto Stunt Artist.

We then got onto the serious business of the annual Burns Night Supper which was extremely well attended despite it being such a cold evening.

As usual Bob Britton, acted as ‘Master of Ceremonies’ dressed in his full Scottish regalia and addressed the Haggis with a Robbie Burns poem whilst it was walked around the tables ably carried by Tim Smith.

A hot nourishing soup started the meal, followed by the traditional Burns night food all cooked excellently by Pat Britton and her small team of ladies.

We then finished off with a range of home made puddings supplied by some of the lady members which were much enjoyed with some people going up for seconds.

The hall was warm, the drink flowed and conversation buzzed.

What more could people ask to celebrate a traditional Burns night.
