THE Nelson Trust would like to extend a warm welcome to our new trustees and patrons.

John Bensted became a trustee at the end of 2014 and is the former Chief Executive of Gloucestershire Probation Trust.

John’s experience and knowledge in the area of probation will be particularly valuable at the ISIS Women’s Centre, which works with female offenders to reduce their risk of reoffending.

In 2013 this service was expanded to cover Swindon, serving the county of Wiltshire.

Kamala Das joined the organisation in the New Year and currently works as a Barrister at St John’s Chambers.

Kamala has experience of working in the field of family law and brings a wealth of knowledge in this area which will be beneficial to Family Focus, Nelson Trust’s family services.

The Nelson Trust has gained three new patrons: Caroline Penley DL has become a patron, following many years of service as a Trustee.

We are delighted that this new role will enable her to keep in touch with the Nelson Trust and contribute to its success.

The Hon Hugh and Rosie Tollemache, are also becoming patrons.

Hugh Tollemache recently served as High Sheriff of Gloucestershire in 2013/14, and the couple are opening their grounds for the charities’ Garden Day in June 2015.

Hyde Mill is home to one of Gloucestershire’s Coronation Meadows with 187 different species of plants and seven different types of Orchid, so the Nelson Trust really is honoured to be running a fundraising event at such a special location.

The Nelson Trust could not run without its ongoing support from trustees and other volunteers and we are exceptionally grateful to them for volunteering their time to support us.
