ON A RECENT cold January evening four members were each invited to play two records they would take to a desert island and two they would not.
There was an interesting selection of music, and Mozart was clearly the most popular choice although some of the other pieces were taken along as a musical challenge to help pass the time!
Significantly several of the items not wanted on the island would be so nostalgic for the castaway that they could not bear to be reminded of past memories.
Nevertheless, some other pieces just could not be tolerated ad nauseam.
All present thought it a most entertaining evening, and are looking forward to the next meeting in St Joseph’s Church Hall, Stonehouse, on Wednesday, February 25 when Kevin Menzies will make a lively presentation on British Jazz.
